I'm the IT Director for Tekserve, an Apple reseller in New York City. In addition to running our own medium-sized infrastructure for 200 employees, I design and manage Mac and iOS deployments for many other companies. In 2005, I founded Xsanity, a community for Mac-connected enterprise storage.

Hi my name is .........

Olivier from Amsterdam recently got hired to look into the deployment of ios devices in a small corporate environment.
I Have very little experience with mass deployment because our clients had very small userbases ( no more then 50 employees at best ).
So in my search i find all these GIANT solutions for thousands of devices and whatnot. Very mind boggling
then i found this website thanks for the chart.

and HI. Smile

Hi my name is Mathew from Paris in France,

I work for an IT Services called Novaliance and I'm currently editing a blog about iOS devices deployment in a technical perspective called www.ios4business.com where you'll find several technical articles on how to deploy iOS devices.

This is based on my experience of a deployment in a big, worldwide, French company.

Theodore Durst from ARGOS Computer Systems, joining the discussion.

I manage the Marketing and Services operations for a company that builds custom systems for the enterprise. ARGOS has been doing that for three decades, but have only been here a couple of years. One area of our practice is mobility and today, that largely means iOS. Our systems are heavy on server-side functionality, employing speech technologies and database integration. So, we are always looking for ways of making the iPhone and iPad perform at their best in the corporate environment.

Not sure how much I can add personally to the conversation. I worked for Apple years ago and have used macs since 2002(ARGOS is a UNIX shop). Over the years, I have been a tech writer, software product manager, ran technical support and done some pretty poor software development. My main ability seems to be converting engineer-speak to English.

If I ask dumb questions, please indulge me. If I can be of help, please let me know.

Theodore

Introduction...

Hi Everyone -

Arthur here from the NW United States. I work for a large fashion retailer as a systems architect (parroting what others have said: my posts represent my own views, and not necessarily that of my employer Smile ).

We have an iOS fleet of roughly 20,000 devices (iPod, iPad, iPhone), most of those based in roughly 200 locations across the US. I look forward to sharing ideas (and gripes!) - and hope for some good dialog. For now, I'll just mine through the older postings!

We were an early-adopter for MDM services, and I feel we have a reasonable handle on most features and functions - but still some real pain points. Will look for threads that speak to these, or will start one myself.

Cheers,
Arthur

Hello my name is Wayne I am just in the initial stage of research for my company. We deployes several hundred iOS devices. Almost exclusively iPhones. We currently have no MDM in place. I am just looking for some general suggestions on some solutions that may fit our needs. We are not looking to really restrict the users. Our goal is mainly to have centerlized management of the devices. They are deployed across several offices in different states.

Nice to meet you all.

Hi, I'm Phil and I work in the middle east for an airline.

We're working on deployments of iOS devices, so a I've found a lot of the information here very useful.

Hoping to learn more about the best practices around mass deployment and management of iOS, and to offer my advice from the experience I've gained over the past 3 years with iOS and MDM.

I'm Josh Elvey. I was recently recruited by eCaring, a healthcare tech company in NYC, to take over managing their fleet of iPads, as well as devise/implement a strategy to help it expand. I'm eager to learn more about MDM as it is somewhat new to me. I read an article featuring Aaron Freimark earlier this week which led me to connect with him on LinkedIn because of his extensive knowledge. That then led me to this forum where I know it will be a huge resource for me. Much Thanks Aaron!! I appreciate all of the help everyone will provide and I plan on sharing my experiences as I learn.
